Fairly clean wonderful accommodation with really polite staff and magnificent location right near a bus station so transport from train station very convenient. Private parking in the next building provided. Everything perfect. Great stay, as always.

I have stayed at the hotel before and find it perfect for my needs, in particular being cycling friendly and the great choice of nearby cafe's and restaurants.

Our room was spotless and had its own bathroom, plus they had tea 🍵 making equipment available for us.

Very central, some parking (only 3 spaces), and secure rooms if not a little small. Very helpful though and everything you need from a hotel room
Waited an hour for check in as only there after 2pm - they are converted apartments which is obvious when you go in but they do the job fine and great value. No bfast included.

The price is good and the receptionist is nice. The room is not large but clean.
Its location is a little bit far away from the main train station.

The continental breakfast offers fantastic food options, and the location is perfect for visiting the Cathedral of Como, with a very accommodating and exceptionally kind staff and owner here.

Comfortable and relaxed hotel with great adjoining pub too
My room was quite basic (shared bathroom) however my mum's en suite was far nicer and worth the difference in price

Location is great, family friendly, quite. Very close to everything, mainly the train!! Highly recommeded!!
The light in the bathroom is activated by sensor but it would be great to know how to disable it to make sure you don’t disturb rest of the room during the night if passing by it. Same thing for heater. It will also be nice if the reception kept the most up to date boat/train schedules so you don’t have to spend long time waiting for the boat or the train.

Slept well in the budget room with a private bathroom, a cozy bed, and even had tea available. Being right in the heart of town made it super convenient! 🛏️🍵

Very friendly staff. Secured parking possible (euro 8 extra) Very good Italian restaurant on ground floor of hotel. Although our room was on street side first floor, we couldn't hear anything from people sitting on restaurant terras outside (double windows with both double glazing). Breakfast also good (more then average). Unfortunatelly, we only stayed one night while travelling from Belgium to south-east France. Probably back next year...
Free wifi would be a nice extra - I believe every hotel should have this service today...

The breakfast was varied and excellent and provided with fruits and croissants and ham...
Didn't like the staff, some of them were obnoxious.

Initial impression of outside of the Riva Al Lago is that it is a budget hotel, however the accommodation, staff and service are of a much higher standard. Mario, the owner and ever present point of contact, could not be more friendly, helpful and accommodating. The rooms have everything you would want, they are basic in design, but clean and spacious. I would certainly recommend this hotel without reservation, it is excellent value for money.
